On behalf of the Gerard Redmond School Community, I would like to welcome our families and students to a renewed partnership with the staff at Gerard Redmond Community Catholic School.
GRCCS was named after Father Gerard Redmond who presided over Our Lady of the Foothills Parish from 1964 – 1970 and again from 1980 -1983. Fr. Redmond was instrumental in the initial development of a Catholic school system here in Hinton beginning officially in 1982. Originally providing education for grades K – 7, it became a K – 12 school in 1999, and in 2005, after extensive renovations, it began its current configuration as a grade 5 – 12 school.
You have selected an excellent school. It is one in which the teachings of Jesus Christ are integrated into the day-to-day curriculum where the students have the opportunity to learn in a vibrant school environment with an enthusiastic and dedicated staff. Here at GRCCS, students are encouraged to participate fully in the academic, athletic, spiritual and social life of the school. Student leadership creates a school community that reflects great energy and develops outstanding members of our society and faith community. At GRCCS each student becomes known personally to all staff and has the opportunity to contribute their skills and talents to the continued success of this great school.
At GRCCS we provide the following:
As our school motto states: “We, the GRCCS community, believe that our academic and personal success is built on a foundation of faith, integrity, life-long learning, mutual respect, and stewardship.” We strive to uphold the teachings of our Savior, Jesus, in every aspect of our school community. If you are just visiting our website and considering Gerard Redmond for your children, we invite you to see for yourself what makes this school so special. I am confident you will like what you see.
Sincerely,
Derek Brown, Principal
